Mollywood has been consistent in making authentic and spectacular films in recent times. So, when this superhero project was announced, the hype was inevitable. We saw Basil Joseph's Minnal Murali, which released with low expectations but later received wide appreciation. Coming from the same industry, expectations for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra were sky-high. Chandra, a mysterious woman moves to Bengalore, works night shifts at a cafe. Sunny and Venu, two aimless bachelors, lives across the the street where Chandra stays. Sunny becomes curious about her odd habits and eventually uncovers the mystery behind her.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra Review :
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is visually stunning with spectacular visuals and slick VFX. The major highlights of the film is undoubtedly Kalyani Priyadarshan's intense performance. It's exciting if you love myth-inspired science fictions with spectacular visuals.
However it doesn't stand alone as it is the first installment in the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe. The movie feels like a grand setup for upcoming parts, than a complete film. Many things left unanswered and some parts feel rushed.
Final Verdict :
If you enjoy female-led superhero films with grand visuals, stunning action sequences and myth-inspired themes, you will definitely like this one. But if you expecting a self-contained film with deeper story, it may leave you wanting more.
